I had the opportunity the other day to get dinner at Sal's by Victor, a local favorite in the Williamsburg area. When I say local favorite, the restaurant has 1,700 reviews on Google alone! Sal's is an Italian restaurant featuring both pizza and pasta. It could be said that Sal's featured much more. The interior was ornamented with a signed Messi jersey among other cultural items. They had an expansive selection of brand merchandise, wine, and paintings for sale as well. In fact, you could buy the famous Sal's pasta by the pound ($4.99) if you so wished.
The dining experience was a pleasant. Despite the pandemic, it was clear that Sal's was the go to dining location in Williamsburg. Tables were packed patrons, with many meals complemented with wine. I ordered myself calamari marinara, a lovely pasta topped with sautéed calamari. The meal came with a complimentary salad as well as bread rolls similar to that of Olive Garden. The presentation of the pasta was spectacular and the taste was just as great. While the pasta was indubitably delicious, I wouldn't say the taste was a great lengths different than other pasta I've had before. Though, the calamari was cooked to perfection!

As a value based diner, I wouldn't say Sal's by Victor offered a dining experience I'd pay to replicate. The menu — ranked $$ — few offerings under $15, with my $16.99 calamari marinara being an average price on the menu. Do not be mistaken though, if you are looking for a casual Italian dining location in Williamsburg, Sal's is the place to be! I personally just prefer dining at a restaurant where the chef is creating a dish I could not recreate myself.
